Daniel Mesfun and Caroline Rotich Win Rock 'n' Roll Philadelphia Half MarathonPublished by
Question Marks Remain for Big-Name Fall MarathonersBy Adam Kopet Daniel Mesfun of Eritrea and Caroline Rotich of Kenya won the Rock 'n' Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon Sunday, running 1:02:58 and 1:10:59, respectively. Wilkerson Given was the top American finisher. He was second, but more than 30 seconds back in 1:03:29. Abdi Abdirahman rounded out the podium in 1:03:32. Noah Droddy, a Chicago Marathon entrant, faded in the closing stage of the race from second to fourth, finishing in 1:03:35. The women's race saw Rotich dominate with Becky Wade as the top American finisher in second. She ran 1:12:12. Jordan Hasay and Emily Setlack raced to the finish line for third. Setlack got the nod over Hasay, running 1:03:34 to 1:03:35. Des Linden, the defending champion, finished 13th in 1:16:09. More news |
