Galen Rupp to Run Rock 'n' Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon in Preparation for Chicago Marathon Appearance

Galen Rupp is set to race at the AACR Rock 'n' Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon on the weekend of Sept. 16-17 according to a press release.

Rupp will use the race as a training run as he prepares for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon in October.

After completing his track career at the USATF Outdoor Championships, a career that included an Olympic silver medal in the 10,000 meters, Rupp has moved permanently to the roads.

Already showing ability at the marathon distance, Rupp secured the bronze medal in the Rio Olympic marathon. He owns bests of 60:30 for the half marathon and 2:09:58 for the marathon.
